Dr. Craig Garfield
Dr. Garfield is a Professor of Pediatrics and a neonatal hospitalist with over 25 years of experience caring for the smallest and most vulnerable babies. He is co-founder of the NICU2Home smartphone app, the first evidence-based research proven support for parents in the neonatal intensive care unit; NICU2Home was recently acquired by AngelEye Health. His personal motto is “Children thrive when families thrive” and his career has focused on discovering ways to help families thrive.
Dr. Garfield received his medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed his pediatric training at Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at the University of Chicago and concurrently obtained a Masters in the Art of Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy as a Harris Child and Family Scholar. As a physician-scientist, he uses quantitative and qualitative methods in his work, and is intrigued as much in the numbers and data as he is in hearing the voices of those often unheard. His research has been funded by NIH, AHRQ, CDC, PCORI, RWJF and other philanthropic organizations. Dr. Garfield is a frequent plenary speaker on the topic of families, technology and health.
